Hey Ladies!
Thank you to everyone who made it today. Forgive us you didn’t get a flower… we thought those were individual small roses…hee hee. Clearly, we didn’t do our research. To all of you who could not make it, we did indeed miss you this morning!! We look forward to hopefully seeing each of you next year!

Thank you thank you for the “Mint” cups! They were so creative and fun! Personally, I (Alesha) am terrible at coming up with things like that, therefore I always sit and wonder how on earth anyone could create such a clever gift. I think we will all be using our cups abundantly this summer. SO…
THANK YOU!!!
As you move into your summer please don’t forget that motherhood is an investment. That you matter. That you are vital to the growth and stability of your family. As a result, don’t just water and fertilize your children but yourself as well. Remember to take time for you. One way to do that is to “interrupt your normal daily responsibilities with community and friendship”. If you were there today hopefully you had time to read the Proverbs 31 words of encouragement at your table. If so, you will remember the verse in Hebrews 10:25 that states,
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (NIV)
”I’ve had times when I felt like throwing up my hands in frustrations and saying, “I quit!” Is what I’m doing making any difference to anyone? I want results! Show me results! Then I think about the bamboo tree.
When the Chinese plant bamboo, first they plant the seeds, then water, and fertilize them. The first year, nothing happens. The second year they continue to water and fertilize the seeds, and still nothing happens. The farmer continues this process for a third and fourth year with no visual results. Then sometime during the fifth year, in a period of approximately six weeks, the Chinese bamboo grows ninety feet.
The question is, did it grow ninety feet in six weeks or did it grow ninety feet in five years? The obvious answer is that it grew ninety feet in five years. If the grower hadn’t applied water and fertilizer every year, there would be no bamboo.
It is the same way with raising children. We pour into their lives. We plant seeds of character, pull weeds with discipline, water with prayer, and fertilize with encouraging words. Then one day, if we are persistent and consistent, we will see beautiful results. “
And remember: just because it’s summer doesn’t mean our time of community has ended. Our regular meetings have simply been interrupted. With a little effort we can still continue to build community together. For example, Lindsey sent out a date for the second week in July when we could all gather and just hang out at her house. Doesn’t that sound fabulous? Personally, I will be thrilled to see everyone again at a time where hosting is not anywhere on my mind. We also are working on several “interruptions” in the form of blog updates during these long summer months, so keep an eye out for those opportunities to connect! Feel free to call or email any of us if you have a special get together planned, an announcement like a birth or a move, etc. We will gladly get those up on the blog!
Thank you again for the wonderful year! Blessings on each of you!
